I recently found some old photos belonging to my grandma, of different events in her life all at different ages. Coming to my grandmas later life she forgot friends and family names and eventually faces. I decided to erase all the other figures apart from my grandma to show the deterioration of the memory and the ability of the person to lose the face but still remember the event. I've created a small series to see if I can get the reaction I intend to get and if this creates a narrative which is understandable to the audience. I also added a slightly faded border to give off a dream effect as with lewd body dementia they can have hallucinations, so there also the doubt to whether it is actually a memory or something which has come from their imagination.
