THE BRAIN AND DEMENTIA
How does the Brain Work?
This video helped me to understand the basics about the brain and shows me what sections are effected when dementia hits. the limbic system is where both memory and emotions are. The the part of the limbic system called the hippocampus which holds all the memories, and the other part of the limbic system called the amygdala which holds all the emotion. The hippocampus is the main area which gets damaged when dementia hits

Dementia causes shrinking in the brain which can cause restriction in certain parts of the brain. This shows that different types of dementia will have different early signs of it due to the part of the brain which is restricted. As the brain shrinks, more and more parts become restricted which means that the symptoms become more similar to all kinds of dementia.
