This piece was inspired by Robert Rauschenberg’s ‘White Painting’ as I wanted to create something which could be taken in different ways depending on the audience. The way I created it was taken from my grandmas lifestyle and designed from her and all her stages of life, the last one being her far down the line of dementia when she lost a lot of weight and not being able to hold her own weight anymore. From different points of view it could just look like the evolution of ageing, which on some levels it is but, it could reflect each persons personal experiences, which is the effect I wanted from it. It is simple but effective.
